Ninety representatives from NATE member companies converged in Washington, D.C., this week to participate in the Association’s 2023 Congressional Fly-In event on Capitol Hill. On Wednesday, May 17, NATE members demonstrated their grassroots prowess by participating in approximately 120 individual meetings with Members of Congress and their respective policy staff.
During the meetings, NATE members advocated for the industry’s priorities, such as workforce development, broadband funding, streamlining the permitting process and agency delays to expedite the deployment of communications infrastructure, commercial spectrum access, network security/supply chain issues, tower safety and reducing regulations on small businesses.
Additionally, NATE members heard remarks from U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (Tennessee), U.S. Representative Kevin Kiley (California), and FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr during a closing reception held in the ornate, historic Mansfield Room at the U.S. Capitol.
“This was a great week for NATE to help move the needle on the Association and industry’s priorities on Capitol Hill,” said President & CEO Todd Schlekeway. “I would like to say a special thank you to our member participants, industry coalition partners, U.S. Senators, U.S. Representatives, and Congressional Staff for helping make the Fly-In event a success.”
